Focus on responsible AI

Our customers can trust accuracy and reliability, as well as depend on the ethical and responsible use of AI in our solutions.

  • How can our customers trust our content?
Our LLM models only use content and proprietary data our clients can trust because it’s curated by experts, built over the years with significant domain knowledge, setting us apart from the competition.
  • How do we prevent hallucination?
In order to prevent hallucination, we use a technique called model grounding. Here, LLMs are allowed to reason, assist in tasks and use their latent understanding of relationships and patterns gleaned from troves of public information. However, we do not allow the LLM to create its own assertions or introduce facts or rely on what we call “model knowledge” – aka facts it may have learned during training on public content. Facts and information are supplied to an LLM only from our trusted and verified sources. The LLM is allowed to synthesize our facts into assertions by using their deep knowledge of language and their extensive understanding of relationships and patterns from the real world – but we don’t purposefully glean factual information from LLMs. As an example, one of the most common patterns used for model grounding in the industry is a technique called retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
  • How do we safeguard our (proprietary/customer) data?
We use a number of controls and guardrails to ensure no IP or private data is “leaked” to an LLM.  We do not train or pre-train LLMs using customer or sensitive and confidential data.  We have strict policies in place with LLM providers around data retention, logging, and encryption to ensure content is protected.  We also have a governance review process to ensure no sensitive, confidential or personal/private information is used with AI in an inappropriate way. We follow all local regulations related to AI and privacy in the markets we operate.
  • Where do we store our data?
Data is stored in our traditional repositories and databases. This data does not move or interact with LLMs or AI models without careful governance.  We adopt a “privacy and security by design” approach keeping separation between AI/LLMs and sensitive, confidential or private data.
