Description
The Cancer Basics book series was developed to offer fundamentals of cancer and its treatment to recently graduated and experienced nurses looking for professional growth and knowledge in their oncology specialty.
This third edition of Cancer Basics addresses the same fundamentals of cancer and its treatment as previous editions. It has added symptom management and survivorship basics using the most state-of-the-science and evidence-based content for a more comprehensive review. All content has been updated to provide a more reader- and learner-friendly product that will appeal to a broader audience of oncology and non-oncology professionals.
New chapters have been included on immunotherapy, adoptive cellular therapy, infusion-related adverse events, and caregiver and family education. Each chapter features key points and study questions to aid the learner in identifying essential concepts. These questions and their associated rationale can be used as a study guide for preparation for the oncology certified nurse (OCN®) examination.
