Kansas requires LLCs to file an annual report, which is due on the 15th day of the fourth month after the close of its fiscal year (April 15 for calendar-year companies). The fee is $55. Kansas also has a franchise tax for LLCs with taxable equity, net capital accounts, income as reported on a federal partnership return or corpus amounting to more than $1 million. The franchise tax is calculated at $0.3125 per $1000 and is due the 15th day of the fourth month after the close of the tax year.

  • Federal tax identification number (EIN). An EIN is required for LLCs that will have employees. Additionally, most banks require an EIN in order to open a business bank account.
