TeamMate Data Exchange (API)

Exchange data with other business units to create an ecosystem of information that reduces duplication of efforts ensures consistency and streamlines communication to help the organization meet its objectives while increasing organizational efficiency.

In today’s complex environment organizations typically run dozens of different software applications which results in redundant or inconsistent data across systems. Departments often have different workflows and reporting but when this information gets filtered up to management it's often inconsistent. This requires time to compile and standardize the information so it’s easy to understand.

Integrate with the other lines of defense to ensure the entire business is operating with consistent information and reducing any unnecessary redundancies. 3rd party system, such as Salesforce or GRC platforms can get information from TeamMate to use in their system or they can push information, such as risk and controls, into TeamMate+. There are many ways to use the Data Exchange to benefit the organization, but the two most common business cases are outlined in the following pages.

Risk Management

The Data Exchange (API) allows audit departments to share their risk and control information as well as receive risk and control information from other systems. These features can also be used to develop continuous monitoring capabilities by receiving Custom Measure information from other systems.

  1. Share fields for strategic risk, controls, and risk; Inherent and Residual scores for strategic risk and risk; Custom measures for assessments and Dimension Entities from TeamMate+ to a 3rd party system
  2. Update fields for strategic risk, controls and risk; Inherent and Residual scores for strategic risk and risk; Custom measures for assessments and Dimension Entities in a 3rd party system and push the updates to TeamMate+.
  3. Add new strategic risk, controls, and risk in a 3rd party system and push the new objects to TeamMate+.
  4. Add or remove assignments to issues, recommendations, and attachments in a 3rd party system and push the assignments to TeamMate+.
  5. Delete Strategic Risks, Controls, and Risks in a 3rd party system and remove them TeamMate+.

Issue Management

The Data Exchange (API) allows 3rd party issue management systems to get issues and associated recommendations and attachments for updating. Updates can be made to issues, recommendations and attachments then pushed back to TeamMate+ to provide consistency across systems. Now a single department can follow-up and communicate with the business to close outstanding recommendations while providing internal audit with updated information for their records.

  1. Share fields for procedures, issues, recommendations, and attachments from TeamMate+ along with the associated assessments and project’s title, description and start and end dates
  2. Update issues, recommendations, and attachments in a 3rd party system and push the updates to TeamMate+.
  3. Add new issues, recommendations, and attachments in a 3rd party system and push the new objects to TeamMate+.
  4. Add or remove assignments to issues, recommendations, and attachments in a 3rd party system and push the assignments to TeamMate+.

Reporting API

Every organization has unique reporting needs. Adding complexity to those needs are factors such as industry, geographic location, and organizational reporting requirements which may vary among different teams or even within a department.

Develop reports and obtain advanced business intelligence by using the TeamMate+ Reporting Data Online Service to send your data from TeamMate+ to business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Excel. These tools can then be used to construct simple yet powerful visualizations or run advanced analytics to uncover new insights.
