Data View

Within the Drug Comparisons module, the Data View tool is used to generate comparative data tables containing two (2) to four (4) drugs. Users can create customized tables containing information on adverse effects, indications, pregnancy and lactation warnings, drug-drug/food/alcohol interactions, and contraindications for the selected drugs.

To select drugs for comparison, begin by entering a drug name into the search box. Possible drug options will begin to appear in the drop-down menu after the first character is entered. Click the Add button to enter the drug into the tool. The drug name will appear in the “Selected Documents” section on the left side of the screen. Add up to three (3) additional drug names for comparison. To remove a drug from the “Selected Documents” window, click the “X” button in front of the drug name.

The Available Sections box contains the different types of data that can be compared for the selected drugs. To remove a section, uncheck the box next to the respective section. Once the desired drugs and sections have been selected, click on the Compare button to generate the data comparisons.

The comparisons will be displayed on the “Results” tab. You can scroll through the entire document or use the “Jump to Section” tool in the upper right to choose the section to compare first. Within each section, each result title contains a hyperlink to additional details regarding the result. The additional information will appear on the Detail tab. Click on a different link to see the updated content located on the Detail tab.

To change the drug monographs to compare or add/delete sections, click on the “Search” tab to delete and/or add additional drugs or sections. Click on the Clear button to start over and begin a new search.

Monograph View

Within the Drug Comparisons module, the Monograph View tool is used to generate side-by-side monograph comparisons between two (2) to four (4) drugs using Facts and Comparisons A to Z Monograph Summaries.

To select drugs for comparison, begin by entering a drug name into the search box. Possible drug options will begin to appear in the drop-down menu after three (3) characters are entered. If there is more than one option available when the user clicks Search, a menu of available options will appear. Click the Add button to enter the drug into the tool. The drug name will appear in the “Selected Documents” section on the left side of the screen. Add up to three (3) additional drug names for comparison. To remove a drug from the “Search Criteria” window, click the X button in front of the drug name.

Once the desired drugs have been selected, click on the Compare button to generate the monograph comparisons.

The comparisons will be displayed on the “Compare” tab. You can scroll through the entire document or use the “Jump to Field” tool in the upper right to choose the section to compare first.
