Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today a new partnership with the Federación Nacional de Clínicas Privadas (FNCP), an organization representing over 550 of the private healthcare institutions in Spain.
The collaboration reflects Wolters Kluwer's focus on fostering growth in the Spanish market and broadening adoption of UpToDate®, the clinical decision support resource used by more than 1 million doctors worldwide. The partnership supports a common mission of the FNCP and Wolters Kluwer to improve care in hospitals and clinics across the country.
Carlos Rus, managing director of FNCP, commented that it is essential to support "any option to improve patient care and promote excellence in healthcare. For the FNCP, it is very important to offer our members services like this, that can bring agility, information, knowledge, safety and quality, to both managers and health centers as well as patients themselves."
As the FNCP strategically focuses on ensuring a higher quality of care and better health outcomes, UpToDate helps member institutions realize these goals by equipping clinicians with access to the most current clinical recommendations to make the best decisions for patients. Working with the FNCP also complements access to UpToDate currently available at over 300 healthcare sites in the Sistema Nacional de Salud (SNS), Spain's national health system operated by Spain's Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.
"UpToDate provides clinicians throughout Spain with evidence-based recommendations to make better care decisions for their patients," says Denise Basow, MD, Vice President and General Manager, UpToDate at Wolters Kluwer, Clinical Solutions. "Our partnership with the FNCP forms an important part of our mission to improve the quality and effectiveness of healthcare throughout Spain."
