BowTieXP and BowTieXP Enterprise version 12 are now available – What's new?

With version 12 of BowTieXP and BowTieXP Enterprise, you can now benefit from improvements to the ‘Systems’ entity. In addition, BowTieXP Enterprise includes improvements to the audit overview report and usability enhancements, such as the ability to easily switch from BowTieXP Enterprise to other Enablon modules.

New features

Additional fields to Systems

Version 12 offers additional fields to the ‘Systems’ entity in BowTieXP and BowTieXP Enterprise. The Systems entity is most often used to model hardware barrier elements, and therefore is the sibling of the ‘Activities’ entity, which is often used to represent human barrier elements.

You can now find the same fields and functions on Systems and Activities. These additional fields and functions were added to Systems:

  • Compliance Objectives
  • System Category (e.g., Mechanical, Rotating, Shutdown System, Gas Detection System)
  • System Type (e.g., linking to IOGP Barrier Model as used in Barrier Management)
  • System Responsible (e.g., Technical Authority Mechanic, Engineering Manager)
  • Document Links (to attach, for example, a performance standard document)

The extra fields are also found in the barrier overview report.

Also, you can now break barriers down into human and hardware components. Both have the same level of functionality. This means you can get to a better understanding of how your barrier functions are delivered, and what you need to manage to make sure barriers are in a fully functional state.

Audit overview roll-up report in BowTieXP Enterprise

The Audit overview is a popular report that shows the distribution of positive and negative answers to audit and inspection questions per organizational unit. This is useful to find underperforming sites, or to see trends in certain barrier types requiring more attention.

Previously, the report was missing a roll-up capability to higher organizational unit levels (e.g., rolling up results from cities to the country level).

With version 12, you can now switch on the aggregation function to see combined results for underlying organizational units.

Usability enhancements and Enablon platform integration

In BowTieXP Enterprise version 12, you can now set your review recurrence to every five years, to complement the existing recurrence options.

Also, you can use the app switcher to switch between BowTieXP Enterprise and other modules of the Enablon Vision platform.

Learn more about these new features in the release notes.
