When it comes to evaluating new technology, hearing directly from firms that have made the switch can be more valuable than any product brochure. In a recent webinar, we spoke with Christopher Ernest of Pozerski Hatch & Co. and Denice Pavey of Sonder CPA about their experiences moving to CCH Axcess, and how that decision is helping them address some of the most pressing challenges facing accounting firms today.
Integration: Connecting systems to save time
Both firms were looking for a more cohesive, cloud-based solution that could support hybrid work and reduce reliance on in-house servers. For Chris Ernest, the decision came down to efficiency and risk reduction. “We really wanted to make a sincere commitment to the cloud and get the servers, and the risks around them, out of our office,” he said.
Denice Pavey shared a similar motivation. Her firm had been using a mix of tools and wanted a more unified platform. “That common database was a big selling point for our firm,” she said. “We saw how innovative CCH was and how aligned they were with where we wanted to go.”
The integration across the CCH Axcess suite has helped both firms streamline their tax workflows. Chris described how his team uses Document, Scan, Autoflow, and Workflow to automate return preparation. “It dramatically cuts down on prep time,” he said. “We’ve been able to take on additional work because of the efficiencies.”
Denice pointed to Workflow as a standout tool. “In addition to the workflow tracking, we’re able to use it for communication, reminders, and client notes... It’s become our starting point for every return.”
