The Journal of Thoracic Disease, founded in Dec 2009, is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal covering the field of respiratory, lung, heart, esophageal and mediastinal diseases.

JTD publishes manuscripts that describe new findings and provide current, practical information on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to thoracic disease. All the submission and reviewing are conducted electronically so that rapid review is assured. Published quarterly from December 2009 to December 2011 and bimonthly from January 2012 to December 2013, JTD now follows a monthly publication model.
