Wolters Kluwer, Health is pleased to announce that Miranda Walker, Associate Director, Medical Journals, for Health Learning, Research & Practice, has been named president-elect of The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) Board of Directors. Her year-long term will begin June 1, 2021.
“We are proud of Miranda for this remarkable achievement. She has been invaluable to our team working with colleagues across Wolters Kluwer to expand our relationships with key professional associations and societies, and will bring that same passion to her position with the SSP,” said Jennifer Brogan, Vice President, Journal Publishing & Society Solutions at Wolters Kluwer, Health Learning, Research & Practice.
As president-elect, Walker will work to fulfill the SSP’s mission of advancing communication among all sectors of the scholarly publication community as indicated in her vision statement. She aims to uphold the SSP’s goals of supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, and to create career development opportunities for all professional levels of scholarly communications globally.
