Infectious Microbes & Diseases serves as an international first-class academic journal in the research field of infectious diseases, providing a high-level academic exchange and information access forum for practitioners, researchers and policy-makers; promoting the timely and wide-spread distribution of research results on infectious diseases; facilitating the disciplinary development of infectious diseases, enhancing the level of disease control, prevention and treatment; and improving global human health. It publishes articles, review articles, guideline articles, letters, case reports, comments and editorials from all fields related to infectious microbes and diseases.

The journal is co-published by Zhejiang University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University Press and LWW, and represents the Collaborative Innovation Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases (CCID), which was founded as a partnership between Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
