Wolters Kluwer launches Coding and Reimbursement webinar series with program on emergency management and Telehealth services

Registration is open for webinars providing practical guidance and timely updates for healthcare professionals

Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. today announced that registration is open for the first two webinars in its new Coding and Reimbursement Series covering evaluation and management and telehealth services, in partnership with Gill Compliance Solutions, LLC. These two webinars are designed to provide healthcare professionals with a better understanding of emergency department evaluation and management and telehealth services.

“In the constantly changing coding and reimbursement regulatory landscape, it is crucial that healthcare professionals have up-to-date information on industry hot topics to ensure the integrity of their compliance programs,” said Maria Bounos, Practice Lead Coding & Reimbursement Solutions at Wolters Kluwer. “We developed this webinar series to provide professionals with invaluable instruction and guidance, as well as the opportunity to ask questions regarding the webinar subject matter. This will be the first of many ’ask the expert’ opportunities for attendees.”

On October 2, Nicole Benson, Audit Manager, BA, CPC CPMA, COSC, will lead the first webinar, “Navigating Emergency Department and Critical Care Services.” Benson, who has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, will discuss how to achieve a better understanding of high level or direct oversight emergency department evaluation and how management (E/M) can increase the accuracy of coding and documentation.

“With a growing number of providers caring for patients in the emergency department, coding and documentation can be a challenge for healthcare professionals,” said Benson. “The webinar will offer guidance on documentation requirements in multiple hospital settings, as well as insight on how to distinguish between high emergency management levels and critical care services based on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines.”

The following webinar, “Designer Healthcare – Updates for Telehealth Services,” will take place on November 8, and will be led by Jana Weis, BA, DIP COM, CPC, Principal at Gill Compliance Solutions, LLC.  The seasoned coding and compliance professional will explore relevant telehealth policy changes for 2018 and how billable services are impacted by documentation in this setting.

“Telehealth continues to be an innovative service to manage the quality of care and patient access in the ever-changing world of healthcare,” said Weis. “As regulations around telehealth continue to develop at both the federal and state level, this webinar will cover the most current compliance practices in the field, including recent coverage changes, current compliance risks, insight on documentation and relevant legislation affecting telehealth.”

Both webinars will include an informative 55-minute discussion followed by an in-depth Q&A, allowing attendees to learn directly from renowned industry experts in real-time.
