Wolters Kluwer introduces AI-powered matter summary capabilities to Passport

Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions today announced the introduction of GenAI-powered matter summarization functionality in Passport workflows.

With Passport, an innovative enterprise legal management platform, legal operations professionals can now accelerate strategic decision-making via AI-generated summaries that provide transparent overviews of matter status, financials, key activities, recent developments, and open items without the burden of manual record review.

“The true value of AI rests in more strategic outcomes,” said Brian Jorgenson, Vice President, Product Management at Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions. “Introducing matter summarization to Passport will help legal operations teams reduce administrative effort and make more informed business decisions.”

The new Passport matter summary AI capability helps users:

Drive deeper understanding: Structured, plain-language matter summaries pull context from notes, documents, invoices, tasks, and other matter data to allow users to quickly get up to speed on a matter. By eliminating the need to open multiple documents or run reports, Wolters Kluwer clients have successfully reduced the time spent on strategic matter reviews by 75%.

Make faster decisions: Immediate visibility into matter status, financials, and key developments support faster decision-making. Legal operations teams can also accelerate matter reviews and handoffs by quickly surfacing critical context, recent activity, and outstanding items.

Increase transparency: Easy-to-share matter overviews allow for improved collaboration and stakeholder communication. Summaries are grounded in existing matter data and supported with references to underlying information.

Matter summarization marks the first expert AI capability introduced to Passport powered by Expert AI. The functionality originally debuted inside TyMetrix 360°, Wolters Kluwer’s SaaS-based e-billing and legal matter management solution.

Wolters Kluwer’s Legal & Regulatory division enables legal and compliance professionals to improve productivity and performance, mitigate risk, and solve complex problems with confidence. Its expert solutions combine deep domain knowledge with advanced technology and services to deliver better outcomes, advanced analytics, and improved productivity for customers.
