Public’s First Comprehensive Look at Businesses that Received PPP & EIDL Loans During the Pandemic

The Small Business Association (SBA) yesterday published an enormous amount of data that identified millions of businesses that received PPP and EIDL loans during the pandemic. This is the public’s first comprehensive look at who used the massive aid programs.

For context, during the pandemic the SBA approved:

  • $525 billion of forgivable PPP loans to 5.2 million businesses
  • $194.8 billion of EIDL loans to more than 3.6 million businesses
  • $20 billion of EIDL grants to 5.7 million businesses

The new PPP data from the SBA does not include canceled loans.
