Scott P. Bruder, MD, PhD, is the founder and CEO of the Bruder Consulting & Venture Group, providing product development, regulatory, compliance, reimbursement, and commercialization support for companies engaged in tissue repair and regeneration. He is the former Chief Medical and Scientific Officer of Stryker Corporation and Member of the FDA’s Advisory Panel on Human Cell, Tissue and Gene Therapy. He is the former CSO at Becton, Dickinson & Co, and spent nearly a decade at Johnson & Johnson, building a portfolio of regenerative therapeutic products across multiple disciplines. Over the last 25 years, he has launched dozens of products, published more than 125 papers, abstracts, and chapters, and received the highest scientific awards from the AAOS, ORS, ABJS, and AIMBE. His landmark patents on the use of mesenchymal stem cells for treating orthopaedic conditions moved the entire platform from autologous to allogeneic cell therapy in a variety of companies around the world. Dr. Bruder maintains his academic ties as Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, where he earned his MD and his PhD in the lab of Arnold Caplan, PhD. Dr. Bruder is currently co-editing the first AAOS textbook, Orthobiologics: Scientific and Clinical Solutions for Orthopaedic Surgeons.
