Each year as one audit cycle draws to a close and preparations for the next begin, there is an opportunity to reflect. It is time to compare actuals to budgets, review engagements delivered, understand reasons for those deferred, celebrate the wins and goals reached, and acknowledge lessons learned. All this reflection is important to plan for the year ahead, but we can also use this information to answer an important question: “How do I grow my audit team’s performance next year?”
