The committee has published its final revisions, but for financial institutions the work is far from over. They still must update their operations and technology to conform to the revisions and to ensure that they comply with the supervisory frameworks in force wherever they do business. This new paper examines some of the interconnections that banks need to think about (FRTB, credit risk, CVA, output floor, other elements of CRD V, etc.), and considers the likely impact on organizational structure, systems, and approach to implementation.
All these interconnections will allow banks to price risks better and have a fuller understanding of the impacts on profitability. But the scope of the task is significant, and will take considerable time.
