With offices in Lyon and Paris, our law firm specialises in employment law (consulting and litigation), business litigation and the law of non-profit organisations. Within our division for employment law, we have three partners and six associates in addition to three assistants.

A snapshot of the law firm

A change in software is always a major moment in the life of a law firm.

Our previous management software notified us that maintenance would soon be discontinued.

So we conducted a market study and decided on Kleos, which to us seemed to be the software best suited to our needs in terms of features (SaaS hosting, software architecture, compatibility with Outlook and mobility).

The existence of integrated electronic document management is particularly useful; with it, we can locate previous files in just a few seconds’ time.

Flexibility in licence management, with no minimum term commitment for a licence, was another element that factored into our choice.

By the same token, the volume of our data is such that the absence of data limitations in terms of GB was another important argument.

We also use digital stamping to generate chain-of-custody records for our files – a feature that simplifies this daily task for our assistants.

My fear was that SaaS technology would sacrifice speed in accessing data.

In use, however, this fear has proven unjustified. When accessing files when away from the office, access is as simple as it is when in the office – in contrast to our old VPN connections. The mobile application is particularly appreciated and useful.

Besides its updated ergonomics, the new web version of Kleos offers greatly improved management of signatures and management of the law firm, particularly where financial matters are concerned.

A positive experience

The experience has been a positive and will allow us to boost our efficiency.

We had a very good relationship with the honest and straightforward sales representative. He was helpful during data transfer and served as a liaison with the technical service. Our contacts for software implementation listened to what we had to say and helped reproduce a data transfer in keeping with our previous classification scheme, and technical support at Kleos is effective.
