Achieving greater audit efficiency should be a constant ambition for every internal audit team, whatever its level of maturity. Internal audit is constantly under pressure to add value, and those teams that increase their efficiency can offer Audit Committees a choice –to deliver more audit work for the same cost or to deliver the same audit work and value for a lower cost. We should be offering this choice to our audit committees every year.
