The official journal of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care publishes original, peer-reviewed articles of a high scientific quality in the specialties of anaesthesia, intensive care, and related disciplines.
Experimental work or clinical observation in humans, and laboratory work of clinical relevance is highlighted. The journal also publishes commissioned narrative reviews by an authority in a field of interest to those working in anaesthesiology, pain, emergency medicine or intensive care.
