2024 Key Trends in Competition Law and Policy

It is with great pleasure that Wolters Kluwer presents the Compendium of the Main Developments in competition law and Policy in 2024.

The originality of Competition law is the great mark of this compendium. Involving 35 jurisdictions, it is possible to verify the development of topics ranging from the advancement of private enforcement to the application of sustainability rules within the scope of competition analysis. It is an opportunity to explore new arguments, theories and compare the regulatory architecture of various competition authorities.

Main Developments in Competition Law and Policy series has been hosted by the Kluwer Competition Law Blog since 2020, with each jurisdiction being analyzed by renowned experts and academics from the respective region. This year, the number of jurisdictions covered has been further extended.

This is the first series in which João Otávio Bacchi Gutinieki participates as an editor, and for a researcher from Brazil, this is the chance to get closer to systems, jurisdictions, and economic realities that seemed very far away. Jules Verne may forgive us, but with this compendium it is possible to go around the world of antitrust in much less than eighty days.

We hope you enjoy reading!

Introducing João Otávio Bacchi Gutinieki

"I recently became one of the editors of the Kluwer Competition Law Blog, and I am running a doctoral research on ‘consumers, collective redress and private enforcement of Competition Law’ at the universities of São Paulo and Vienna. I aim to collaborate to further expand the reach of the Kluwer Competition Law Blog, seeking for posts from different jurisdictions, especially Latin America and the Global South. Therefore, ideas are always welcome!"
