• Requesting information checklist (individual)
One of the biggest obstacles to efficient processing of tax returns is the back-and-forth communication required to clarify client queries. To help minimise this, we have provided a checklist of information recommended to be received prior to commencing the work designed to reduce overall costs to your accounting practice.
You can send this through to clients to help them collate the necessary information to complete an individual tax return for the 2024-2025 income year. It also supports efficient client engagement throughout the process. We also have other relevant checklists available for other entity types, such as companies, trusts and partnerships – accessible as part of 12-month subscription to CCH iKnowConnect Practical Tools.
This checklist is a collated version of questions, and as such the items may not be entirely relevant to each of your client base. As a result, we encourage you to remove or add lines to the checklist as you see fit in order to adequately customise this to suit each client’s specific circumstances.
The main objective of the checklist is to reduce the time spent communicating with clients by pre-empting items that are usually queried during the preparation of the income tax return. It also helps identify potential deductions available to ensure that the return prepared is complete and accurate.
• Streamlining client engagement
To assist with this outreach, the Wolters Kluwer team have prepared the following client letter templates to assist your clients to help them collate necessary information for their individual tax return and to understand what the tax changes are for 30 June 2025.
