Touchstone Research: Gamechanger

One of the very first questions asked in the Touchstone Insights survey is, “Do you expect to make a methodology change within the next 12 to 24 months?”

An interesting observation is that before the pandemic, in January and February, 43 percent of internal audit teams stated that they intended to make a change.

As we moved into March and April, that number crept up to around 47 percent, and now it’s up to 50 percent. The pandemic has been a catalyst for internal audit teams, forcing them to realize that they need to react rapidly to stay ahead of emerging risks.

The Touchstone Insights for Internal Audit also reports that 40 percent of internal audit teams evaluate changes in relation to using Agile audit principles to maximize audit coverage and deliver value to the organization.
