Dr. Veerinderjeet Singh graduated from the University of Malaya with a first class honours degree in accountancy in 1979 and obtained his Doctorate from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2000. Veerinderjeet has served with the Malaysian Inland Revenue Department and has been an Adjunct Professor at a few local universities. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor at the Business School, Monash University, Malaysia.
He has served as an Executive Director in the Malaysian tax practice of two of the then Big 5 international accounting firms.
He was the co-Founder and Chairman of TAXAND Malaysia (now known as Tricor Taxand Sdn Bhd), which is a member of the TAXAND Organisation of independent tax firms worldwide. He is the current President of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). He is also Past President of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and Past Chairman of the Malaysia Branch of the International Fiscal Association. He also serves as Chairman of the Monash Business School Industry Advisory Board.
He is the Malaysian representative on the Commission on Taxation of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) based in Paris. In addition, he was also a Trustee of the Malaysian Tax Research Foundation until April 2017. In September 2018, Dr Veerinder was appointed by the then Malaysian Minister of Finance as a member of the Tax Reform Committee tasked to develop ideas and strategies to reform the Malaysian tax system. He is also the Technical Advisor for Tax in Wolters Kluwer (Malaysia).
At Axcelasia Taxand she held the position of Managing Director from 2012 to 2016. She retired from full-time professional services at the end of 2016 and in the last 4 years, she has focused primarily on tax training projects. Renuka was elected to the Council of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) where she held this position from 2012 to 2016 and chaired one of the Technical Committees. She is currently a Fellow of the CTIM.
Renuka has significant experience in training tax professionals both within professional services firms as well as those in the corporate sector for over 25 years. She has also spoken at and chaired sessions at both local and international tax conferences and conducted tax workshops for professional bodies.
In addition to professional services and training, Renuka also has also authored numerous articles and publications. In 1993, she co-authored a publication entitled “Islamic Banking in Malaysia” published by the Institute of Bankers, Malaysia which was part of an awareness initiative. She has written chapters for the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation and for TAXAND International publications, and has authored numerous articles which have been published in the Tax Nasional/Tax Guardian, the Asia Pacific Tax Bulletin, Smart Investor, Personal Money, etc. In the last 3 years, she has written the quarterly tax technical updates for Wolters Kluwer Malaysia.
High in demand as a consultant to various institutions and organisations, he has published numerous research articles, books, monographs and practice manuals in the field of financial accounting and reporting. He is the author for Malaysia Financial Reporting Expert, Financial Accounting and Reporting in Malaysia, Vol. 1 and Vol 2, Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standard (The MPERS Framework) as well as Financial Instruments: Recognition, Measurement, Presentation & Disclosure.
In addition to writing Constructive Dismissal — Commentaries and Cases (2008) and co-authoring Retrenchment Law and Procedure in Malaysia (2009), Dato’ Thava’s other literary . He is also the contributing editor for the volume on the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967 and the Trade Unions Act 1959 in the Annotated Statutes of Malaysia series (2002). He is the panel author for Employment Law Asia (Malaysian Chapter) (2002) and principal author of Employment Termination Law & Practice Malaysia (2001–present).
Vincent Josef
With his 47-year presence in taxation, Vincent Josef manages his own practice providing taxation consultancy services on Tax Audits and Investigation matters and “Problem Resolution”. He wrote a book “Tax Audit and Investigation Guide – Malaysia” published by Wolters Kluwer and was the past Consultant Editor for the Malaysian Master Tax Guide series. He is the author for Malaysia Income Tax Deductions for Businesses.
Ng Eng Juan
His current research interests are in the area of accounting standards and practices and he has published over 30 books on accounting. He is the author for Consolidated Financial Statements (MFRS Framework) and co-author for A Practical Guide to Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standard (MPERS).
Danny Tan
Danny has held several honorary advisory roles in financial reporting committees and working group on IFRS technical matters. He is currently a project manager with the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board in several projects. He is the co-author for A Practical Guide to Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standard (MPERS).
She is the author for Commercial Applications of Company Law in Malaysia and for Malaysia Company Law: Principles and Practices.
Effendy Othman
Effendy was the co-author of the Malaysian chapter on Restructuring & Insolvency for Insolvency International 2012 and 2013 publications and was the author for the Malaysian book chapter on Asian Conflict of Laws East and South East Asia by Wolters Kluwer. He is a fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Centre for International Legal Studies. He is the co-author for Malaysia Company Law: Principles and Practices.
He has written and edited numerous papers and journals and has presented over 100 conference papers in international accounting conferences. He also won numerous academic and teaching awards. He is the co-author for Auditing: Theory and Practice in Malaysia.
Dr Nurmazilah began her career at a big four audit firm, before joining a public listed company as a Group Accounts Manager. She left the corporate world for the academia in 1999 where she currently works on research projects in the areas of auditing, financial reporting and corporate governance. She is the co-author for Auditing: Theory and Practice in Malaysia.
Cheah Foo Seong
Cheah is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of the Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia, and holds MBA from Henley Management, UK; LLM from Staffordshire University, UK, and Doctor of Laws from American Heritage University, Southern California, USA. Cheah had authored the Directors Manual Malaysia and Guide to Company Secretarial Practice in Malaysia.
