Zaida Aponte is an Associate Director responsible for overseeing the U.S. Advisory Compliance Management System practice with Wolters Kluwer Financial & Corporate Compliance. She is bilingual (English/Spanish) and brings over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry working for global financial institutions in the areas of internal audit, regulatory compliance, international retail product operations, banking operations, third-party risk management, credit cards, external sales, and portfolio risk management.
Zaida has served in a variety of key leadership roles including as Chief Auditor, as a Regional Director of Products managing 21 countries, as Vice President of Bank Operations in Puerto Rico and as an executive leader responsible for credit cards, retail products, sales, and consumer lending operations. As Vice President & Credit Director of a Consumer Lending Operation, Zaida managed the establishment of high-performance credit acquisition operations and the development and implementation of credit scoring models for retail products. Zaida holds a BS in Business Administration in Industrial Management from the Inter American University in Puerto Rico and is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and a Certified Internal Controls Auditor.
