Bas Kniphorst is Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting Europe, a leading provider of information, software and integrated workflow solutions for tax, accounting and audit professionals. In this role, he is responsible for the strategy, direction and results of the Tax & Accounting division in Europe.
Since joining Wolters Kluwer in 2001, Bas has held leadership positions across Europe, North America and Asia and in both the Tax & Accounting and Legal & Regulatory divisions. Immediately before assuming his current role, he served as Vice President and Managing Director of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory Benelux. He previously led Product Management for Tax & Accounting Research & Learning in the United States and Canada and served as General Manager for Wolters Kluwer businesses in Asia Pacific.
Throughout his career, Bas has focused on customer-driven innovation, product development and digital transformation. In North America, he led the launch of CCH AnswerConnect, an award-winning research platform, and was instrumental in the introduction of CCH Axcess iQ, one of the first AI-driven solutions for accounting professionals, bringing together tax news and actionable client intelligence. These experiences helped shape his long-standing interest in applying technology to professional workflows and solving practical customer challenges.
Today, his areas of focus include the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud transformation, the evolution of tax and accounting firms toward higher-value advisory services, e-invoicing and the digital resilience of European businesses. His thought leadership explores how organizations can move AI from experimentation into core workflows while maintaining strong governance, trusted data, sector expertise and human oversight. Recent research and commentary have focused on the opportunities and challenges facing tax and accounting professionals and small and medium-sized businesses as they navigate digital transformation and regulatory change.

He holds a Master of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Politics from Hatfield College, Durham University, United Kingdom.
