Wolters Kluwer celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month: Meredith Alvarez

From September 15 to October 15, Americans observe Hispanic Heritage Month. In celebration, Wolters Kluwer has spotlighted the careers and stories of several of our Hispanic leaders whose heritage has influenced their contributions and furthered our culture of innovation.

Meredith Alvarez — Customer Experience Director, Operations & Training — is energized by working within a high-functioning Clinical Effectiveness team in the Health division, where they strive to improve processes and procedures for both internal teams and customers. Working at Wolters Kluwer, Meredith says, gives her the stability and flexibility to push herself in both work and personal life.

Hispanic Heritage - Meredith Alvarez 2022.
“Being able to focus on making a difference in the healthcare world while raising two girls who understand where hard work and lots of love/support can get you is extremely rewarding.”
Described as a “flurry of energy” — even while juggling dozens of projects and protégés — Meredith’s standard mantra is “Live and learn.” This mantra is part of a larger piece of advice Meredith has fully embraced, paraphrased from prior leaders in her career at Wolters Kluwer, “We’re going to make mistakes, and that’s okay. What’s important is that we try, learn, and keep moving forward — striving for excellence.”

In the healthcare space, Meredith follows in the inspiring footsteps of her paternal grandmother, Carmen Mendoza, who was “a trailblazer in Chicago as a Mexican woman, working to better healthcare access in her community.” Meredith looked up to her grandmother and credits her with instilling in her family a deep sense of equality for all and perseverance to do what’s right.
