Gilgen Door Systems AG
The challenge
Following the takeover by a Japanese group, Gilgen Door Systems AG, a Swiss supplier of innovative door and gate systems, was faced with the challenge of finding a suitable alternative for the corporate reporting solution it had previously used. It needed to find a new solution that optimally supports both the internal requirements at Gilgen and the management approach of the Japanese parent company.
The company had to find a way to make data entry as simple and standards-based as possible in order to reduce the risk of errors. They also needed a tool that could be used by anyone, not just qualified finance experts.
CCH Tagetik solution
The ability to work without a large learning curve with a simple Excel add-on instead of a highly specific, new user interface was also instrumental in deciding to implement CCH Tagetik. Today, Gilgen Door Systems AG uses the finance platform primarily for their consolidated financial statements. They also use it sometimes to generate forecast scenarios.
It is possible to treat actual and plan processes in the same way, which is a great advantage. With CCH Tagetik, the company provides their forecast template to its subsidiaries as a basis, meeting the requirements of the parent company relatively easily.
The group controlling department at Gilgen Door Systems AG especially appreciates the fact that everyone can be effectively and locally integrated into the processes. Data no longer has to be entered manually from a central location. The actual and plan figures can instead be cleanly entered at decentralized locations and validated and consolidated via a workflow with connected diagnostic processes.
