CCH Axcess 2023 enhancements bring integration into focus

The new year always brings exciting enhancements for CCH Axcess™ customers, and this year is especially loaded with innovative new features and integrations. New 2023 CCH Axcess enhancements launched at the end of year, just in time for tax season.

1040 Return Dashboard enhancements enable proactive client service    

The award-winning CCH Axcess Tax 1040 Return Dashboard now leverages integration with CCH Axcess iQ and CCH AnswerConnect. The combination of advanced technology and expert research content offers more actionable intelligence, enabling firms to proactively serve clients more effectively. Tax professionals now have easier access to the deep insights they need to build and maintain trust with their clients.  

  • CCH Axcess iQ events pane: Relevant CCH Axcess iQ federal and state events now appear on the 1040 Return Dashboard. CCH Axcess iQ uses predictive intelligence to identify recent and upcoming legislative changes that may affect a firm’s clients. Accessing this information from the 1040 Return Dashboard gives firms a convenient starting point to build their advisory services and identify new revenue opportunities.  
  • Clickable complexity scores: Preparers can improve accuracy by diving deeper into complex issues with a 360° view from CCH AnswerConnect. Complexity scores on the 1040 Return Dashboard provide insight into the level of expertise needed to complete a return. The additional in-depth information provides clarity on common trouble spots, so firms deliver the highest-quality returns.   

As the only tax software that includes integrated advisory tools powered by expert research content, CCH Axcess Tax helps preparers find answers without interrupting their work. Existing customers can easily add these valuable modules, even in the midst of busy season.

Gain insight into client information requests

Firms will also experience enhanced visibility and convenience when managing client requests. Users can view the progress of CCH Axcess Client Collaboration requests directly from CCH Axcess Workflow’s control sheet. In addition, users can navigate and open CCH Axcess Client Collaboration from My View in CCH Axcess Workflow.   

Enhanced functionality and a more modern look and feel

Additional CCH Axcess enhancements released in December include:   

  • Return Manager: The new CCH Axcess Tax Return Manager is an updated version of the primary home screen, with enhanced functionality and a more modern look and feel. With a customizable interface, accountants spend less time searching for the information they need and can take action more efficiently. This enhanced user interface optimizes performance and allows larger data sets.  
  • K-1 Automation: CCH Axcess Tax K-1 automation is designed to make it easier for firms to import K-1 data into a 1040 return from an existing 1065 return providing firms with a more streamlined tax workflow for complex returns with multiple K-1s, improving accuracy while also increasing speed.  
  • DataScan API: Firms will save time by eliminating bottlenecks and automating time-consuming data queries. The DataScan API automates the ability to run existing DataScans that have been created and download the results for firms to leverage that data however they choose.  
  • CCH Axcess Data Axcess Utility Enhancements: The Data Axcess Utility allows for the extraction of CCH Axcess data to a local SQL instance. Through integrations with business intelligence platforms or within Excel, firms have the ability to create custom reports. Data from the Data Axcess Utility now refreshes every four hours, providing more visibility into the firm’s performance, efficiency and profitability.
