The journal publishes rigorously conducted research, systematic, integrative and critical realist reviews, essays and debates, and lived experience narratives; it supports recovery oriented approches to mental health.

All work contains explicitly stated implications for people with lived experiences of mental health problems in addition to those for psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing.
