To better understand the common challenges and goals of the HCC risk adjustment process, and the tools leveraged to make the process more efficient, Wolters Kluwer commissioned Xtelligent Healthcare Media to conduct a survey which polled senior-level or above employees from Medicare Advantage plans across the country.

The time is here for health plans to transform how they collect, manage, and share data. On March 9, 2020, the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) released the final rules covering interoperability, information blocking, data accessibility and transparency, and EHR certification criteria.

The health plans' objective was to design and implement a process for improving the turnaround time of code group updates to minimize financial exposure, improve accuracy, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
