Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Launches New Journal: Current Orthopaedic Practice
PHILADELPHIA, PA, May 5, 2008 - Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, has launched a new journal for the practicing orthopaedic surgeon, Current Orthopaedic Practice (COP). The new journal is an evolution of Current Opinion in Orthopaedics, a review journal published by LWW since 1990.
"This new journal combines the best aspects of Current Opinion in Orthopaedics--in-depth review articles focusing on the latest developments in orthopaedic practice--with original clinical research and special departments," Andrew H. Crenshaw Jr., MD, the new editor-in-chief of COP and Associate Professor in the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Memphis Tennessee. "Our authors and board members are in active orthopaedic practice, and know how important it is to get clinically relevant research and news in a clear and succinct format."
A bimonthly, print and online journal, COP will address the full scope of orthopaedics, covering the latest techniques and newest thinking in treating disorders of the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, foot and ankle, as well as issues and controversies in pediatric orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma and sports medicine. Four-color photographs, illustrations, and web-based media will help provide critical key information that physicians need to effectively manage patients.
In addition to the print and online journal, subscribers will receive Current Orthopaedic Practice eNews, an electronic newsletter to be distributed in months in which the print journal is not published. The e-newsletter will distill current news and research into a quick-read, user-friendly format. Subscribers to COP will also gain access to LWW online archives, including the complete online archive of Current Opinion in Orthopaedics, from 1990 to 2008, and archives of Clinical Orthopaedics & Related Research from 1976 to 2007.
