Matching Check Presented to American Red Cross for Sandy Relief Efforts

After devastating Hurricane Sandy hit the eastern part of the U.S. last Fall, Wolters Kluwer employees from all over the world rallied and raised a total of $22,481.68 . This total donation amount was matched dollar-for-dollar by Wolters Kluwer and was presented to the American Red Cross in Riverwoods as over 100 Wolters Kluwer employees proudly watched. The ceremony was led by senior WK leaders, Kevin Robert and Stacey Caywood, who were joined by Fran Edwardson, Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago. Mrs. Edwardson thanked Wolters Kluwer’s staff and management for their generous contribution and for supporting the matching campaign.  She and volunteer, Kyle Sullivan, also shared personal experiences and memories from their time spent on the front lines helping Hurricane Sandy survivors.

Now, three months later, the American Red Cross has served over 10 million meals and snacks and distributed millions of supplies as blankets, clothes and clean-up kits to Sandy survivors and will continue to devote resources to Sandy relief efforts for the next several months. Wolters Kluwer’s senior Leaders, Stacey Caywood and Kevin Robert, present a handsome matching donation check to American Red Cross/Chicago Chapter CEO, Fran Edwardson, on behalf of the company as part of a charitable giving campaign launched last November.  Thanks to the generous donations made directly by our employees, in total the Wolters Kluwer organization raised almost $45,000 USD which was directed toward helping with Hurricane Sandy relief and recovery efforts.
