Emergency Medicine News, Nephrology Times, and Oncology Times Honored For Excellence in Editorial Content, Graphic Design, and Overall Communication Effectiveness
Philadelphia, PA (September 13, 2010) – How Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a part of Wolters Kluwer Health, received six different awards for writing, editing, and design in the annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. The awards include two for Emergency Medicine News, one for Nephrology Times, and three for Oncology Times. All three publications are available to institutional subscribers on OvidSP, a leading healthcare information search, discovery, and management platform of Ovid.

Grand Awards are based on 11 categories, including editorial content and graphic design.
Nephrology Times received an Award of Excellence in the Magazine & Newspaper Writing category. Also published monthly, Nephrology Times reports timely, critical news and information for professionals caring for patients with kidney problems.
Oncology Times received three Awards of Excellence for How-to Series Writing, News Series Writing, and Editorial Advocacy Writing. Published twice monthly, Oncology Times is distributed to more than 45,000 cancer specialists—oncologists, oncology nurses, and other specialists—all over the world with news, analysis, commentary, and special reports from the field.
The APEX Awards for Publication Excellence are an annual competition for writers, editors, publications staff and business and nonprofit communicators honoring excellence in editorial content, graphic design and achieving overall communication effectiveness. The 2010 annual award competition was the twenty-second, and attracted more than 3,700 entries. One hundred APEX Grand Awards were given in 11 categories; more than 1,100 APEX Awards of Excellence were given in 127 categories.
