With more than 20 sessions and 60 plus speakers currently scheduled, the 2008 Colloquium will cover a variety of industry topics related to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and fair and anti-predatory lending guidelines. In addition, several sessions will address the topics of anti-money laundering and fraud prevention.

“Given the continued subprime mortgage crisis, the increasing amount of money laundering and fraudulent activity in the financial services industry and the ever-changing bank regulatory environment, the 2008 CRA & Fair Lending Colloquium is an event senior compliance professionals can not afford to miss,” said Raffi Festekjian, chief executive officer of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services PCi line of compliance analytics solutions. “Attendees will receive the rare opportunity to learn from industry leaders and various regulators on how their organizations can comply with regulations in practical ways that will allow and in many cases, even help them grow their businesses.”
Colloquium attendees may also sign up for two pre-conference sessions covering Fair Lending Essentials and CRA Essentials. And they can learn about proven community development programs by signing up for the pre-conference community caravan. Attendees will tour sites in Orlando and hear from community administrators about their programs and how they partnered with the community on complex financial arrangements and obtained funding to provide needed services within the community.
The 2008 Colloquium is sponsored by the American Bankers Association (ABA) and Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA). Attendees can earn credit toward the ABA’s Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) professional designation.
